Holy shit finding this page feels like stepping back to the internet in like 2005 when i was a kid and it wasnt a bleak slopfest. Good work so far on the book! I love how vivid the imagery is - i feel like i can smell the forge and feel the tension in the conversations. My reading list is pretty saturated so idk if ill finish it, but good work :cheers: Your site is so delightful. It's so rare to find something on the internet that bears the humanity of its creator.

Got around to reading chapter 2 (I've been having A GO of it lately smh.) I really like how Guin is frequently just nonchalantly comparing things to stuff she sees in the forge. Hope that piece of her stays throughout even when she maybe becomes a soldier/hero. Excited for next chapter. I can feel that her moment to start the hero's journey is nearing. I am even doing some of my own writing now, though not like a whole novel. More just like essays. Been trying to tell myself lately "I am capable, doesn't matter if it's good I'm rusty, and it AINT for a grade." Relearning comma rules is gummin up my system though :,D

Finally read that first chapter! Really liked the conversation about if you are actually good at what you do. Can you trust a girl-dad in his praises. Very relatable lol. Was thinking to myself for the first little portion "damn do all they make is weapons and armor?" so when it came out through the dialogue that she is better at making a plow share because she's more experienced I thought "Nice, plow share mentioned." Also liked how it does a bit of exposition in revealing that the city(?empire?) requirements for weapons and armor are new to this war. That her father has been through war times before but that for Guin it's the first time in at least her working life that she's had to consistently make things that would go in an armory. Thank you so much for reading! I hope the typos werent so egregious — I do a lot of my writing on my iPad and then convert the text to html so I might have had some technical difficulties 😭. I'm so glad you like Guin and her dad so far! He's such a girl dad, and he always just wants to do what's best for her. There hasn't been any sort of conflict since he was a young man, and that was just civil, so I'm glad that showed through without me saying it! Exposition is something I struggle with a lot because I love to yap haha. I'm so grateful you took time to read and I hope I'll have more parts up soon!

thank you so very much! i've just finished rewriting the first chapter (but i wish i had more to post right now!) so i hope you enjoy when you find time! i followed you too! i'll have to see if i can print out your colouring pages (i love them) at uni at some point! <3 thank you again!
